Flora May Shaffer
Flora May Shaffer Indian Wells - Flora May (Gig) Shaffer of Indian Wells passed away October 2, 2020. Flora May was born December 23, 1934 to Earl and Lucy Conner and was one of four children, three of which were known as the Township Girls in Oklahoma, Pennsylvania. Gig and Whit married in 1952 and added three loving children along the way. They moved to California in 1967 but not before becoming the top shoe saleswoman in North Apollo, PA. Her family was her number one priority and she took great strides to meet all their needs along with managing a home, airport runs, vet trips, and bowling teams. Gig loved to travel and enjoyed many cruises with family and friends. She was never far from cards or dice or slots to keep her moving. Gig enjoyed her time on the golf course in Desert Horizons and of course, a good game of Bunco was always on the agenda. Her zest for life was infectious and she surrounded herself with those that shared in her love of the game. Gig loved her family deeply and without her our hearts may feel empty, but her legacy and memories will be remembered forever. Gig is preceded in death by her husband Clyde Whitson Shaffer of 67 years. Gig is survived by two sisters (Meredith and Sandy), three children (Cheryl/Fred, Cliff/Debbie, Carrie/Paul), four grandchildren (Allison, Ryan, Cory, Blake), and five great-grandchildren (Maddux, Stella, Jameson, Easton, Kensington). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Due to Covid-19, services will be determined at a later date.
