Brown, David K. 8/18/2020 Altamonte Springs, FL David K. Brown, age 93 departed for his heavenly home on August 18, 2020 from Altamonte Springs, Florida. In his younger years he was previously from Grand Rapids. He was born October 27, 1926 in Ferndale, MI. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude Anna Kendrick and father Axel Felix Fahlstrom; his siblings Edward Brown, and Alberta "Berte" Rand, and wife Janette Cunningham Brown. He is survived by his children: Leslie (Mike) Williams, William (Amy) Brown, grandchildren: Brian (Stephanie) Williams, Laura (James) Egan, Scott Brown, and great grandchildren: Kennedi Williams, Will and Max Egan. David proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Logic during WWII. He was a member of the 32nd degree Scottish Rite Masons for 50 years. His careers were as a manager for Somerville Construction Company in Grand Rapids, then a small business owner plus a business broker in Florida. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America with the Grand Valley Council. David had a love for jazz music and playing the piano with a dance band in his college years at Central Michigan University. Cremation has taken place. A private family service is to be held at gravesite in the Detroit area at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East.
