Karen Lynnette (Heathman) Starkel Karen Lynnette (Heathman) Starkel, aged 78 passed away peacefully October 18, 2020. She was born March 6, 1942 in Iola, Kansas. Karen is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 38 years, Paul D. Starkel. Karen leaves behind son James R. Wruck Jr., daughter-in-law Alicia and grandson Dylan; daughter Kristen A. Guerrero, son-in-law Javier and granddaughter Sofia; brother Douglas Heathman and sister-in-law Tammie; sister Karole (Heathman) Farmer and brother-in-law Larry; sister-in-law Candy Heathman; parents-in-law Jim and Peggy Stiles. Karen will also be missed by her bonus family: six stepchildren, six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter; nieces, nephews and other dear relatives. Karen retired from Eisenhower Hospital and spent her free time researching her family's ancestry. Karen will be missed by her beloved cat, Smokey. There will be no services at this time due to Covid19 restrictions. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
