Emil Leonard Veltre May 05, 1930 - October 12, 2020 Emil L. Veltre, 90, of Belmar, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2020. Emil was born in Newark and lived in Union before moving to Belmar 18 years ago. He was a proud US Marine Corps veteran who served in the Korean War. Emil worked as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways in Newark and Elizabeth for 30 years before retiring in 1986. Emil loved the ocean and had a passion for football, especially when it came to his favorite team the New England Patriots. He was predeceased by his parents Emil and Mary Veltre, as well as all five of his siblings. He is survived by his long-term partner, Loretta LaFerrara, and her son, Wayne, of Belmar, his daughter Lana and her husband, Emilio Rascionato, of Totowa, his grandchildren, Nicole and Matthew Rascionato of Totowa, NJ, and his niece, Pam Yaccarino of Bricktown, NJ. Visitation will be on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon at the Reilly Bonner Funeral Home, 801 D Street, Belmar NJ. Committal to follow at 1:30pm at Brigadier General William C Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation, https://www.alzinfo.org/ , would be greatly appreciated.
