BAUMGARDNER, Betty Jane Lamb Betty Jane Lamb Baumgardner passed away peacefully on October 8, 2020 with her family by her side. Betty was born on March 15, 1921 to Harrison and Verda Lamb in Huntington, WV. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Ralph P. Baumgardner, sister Lenore Lamb Bowles, daughter Cathy Baumgardner Kirwin and nephew Lloyd Shelton Bowles, Jr. Betty was attending The University of Texas at Austin when WWII brought her back to Huntington where she attended Marshall University and was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority. She and Ralph met through friends, married in 1944 and moved to Charleston 5 years later where they were very involved in the community and their church. Betty had multiple garden club affiliations and served as president of The Junior Woman's Club while Ralph spent his time in support of the Lions Club. After moving to Dallas in 1960, Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dallas where she and Ralph were active members of the Allman Class. She was a busy mother of three who branched out to enjoy many successful years as a realtor with Adele Little Real Estate prior to retirement and then travelling the world with her special group of friends afterward. After Ralph's passing in 1985, Betty became an active leader in the Widowed Persons Support Group where she made many endearing friends. She was a passionate bridge player as a member of the Tuesday Bridge Group at Royal Oaks Country Club and Town North Women's Club along with several other fun loving bridge groups and a member of the Mary K. Craig Class. Betty is survived by her cherished family members daughter Becky Baumgardner Jacobs, son David Baumgardner and his wife Melissa, grandchildren Erin Jacobs, Anna and Sam Baumgardner, nephew Richard Bowles, niece by marriage Joanne Bowles and lovely friends. She will be greatly missed as a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. A family only graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at Hillcrest Memorial Park where Betty will be interred next to her husband Ralph.
