Robert G. "Bob" Eckert, age 88, of Hershey, passed away on October 11, at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. Born July 11, in Lawn, PA, son of Percy and Irene Eckert He graduated from Hershey High School in 1950 and after the Berlin Airlift. He was retired after a 40 year career as a computer programmer from FMSO on the Navy Base in Mechanicsburg. He enjoyed projects in his workshop, going for walks and spending time with his family. Surviving are his loving family including three daughters, Sylvia Zeigler and spouse Ron; Diane Eckert and Cindy Buck; 5 grandchildren, Amanda Martini and spouse Jeremy; Eric Buck and spouse Katie; Timothy Empson; Angela LaChance and spouse Brian and Nathan Buck; one great grandchild, Autumn Empson; one sister, Evelyn Martin and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his wife, Evelyne Eckert; brother, Lloyd Eckert and son-in-law Greg Buck. Services will be private to keep everyone safe due to COVID. He will be interred with his wife at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at Masonic Village for their love and kindness.
