Lillian Ann (Kindness) (Shaw) Smyth, 79, beloved wife, of 44 years, of George A. Smyth who predeceased her in 2007, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at her home in Springfield with her family at her side. Born on February 19, 1941, in Boston, MA, a daughter of Martha (Kindness) and Earl Shaw, she was a longtime resident of Springfield and a graduate of Springfield Technical High School. Lillian was a talented homemaker, besides maintaining a beautiful home, she loved to cook, garden and travel to Maine to spend time with her family. Lillian leaves behind her loving daughters, Cynthia Krautler and her husband, Douglas, of Springfield and Leslie Smyth of McGraw, NY; brothers, Robert Shaw of Sanford, ME and Harold Shaw of Crossville, TN; three cherished grandchildren, Daniel Panagos, Lindsay Karaarslan and her husband, Murat, and Ryan Smyth, and four great grandchildren, Amerie, Isabella, Delilah, and Mehmet; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Michael Krautler. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, October 21, for a period of visitation from 8:45-9:45 a.m. at Hafey Springfield Chapels, 494 Belmont Avenue, followed by a service at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home. Committal prayers and burial will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Donations in Lillian’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice. www.hafeyfuneralservice.com
