Lawrence Gordon Crane, Jr., 53, passed away on October 15, 2020, in Birmingham, AL. Gordon is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Gordon Crane, his sister, Wendy Crane Johnson and his stepfather, Charles Fechter. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Kathy McBride Crane, sons Britton Moore and Aaron Moore (Michele), mother, Sarah Pledger Fechter, sister, Carol Crane Wells (John), stepbrother Charles Fechter, Jr. (Leigh), brother-in-law, Alan Johnson, and nieces Grace Wells Kitchen (Jacob), Laura Wells and Holly Wells. Gordon was a graduate of Huffman High School and the University of Alabama, Birmingham. His passions were his family, his dogs, Julio and Maggie, rescuing strays and fostering dogs in need. A close second to his dogs was his love of sports, especially Alabama football and NASCAR racing. Gordon had a kind and gentle soul. He was a good listener, always showing sincere interest in others' well-being. He had a deep knowledge of history - people, places and events of the past and made meaningful connections to our current world. Gordon worked in the political polling field for many years before transitioning to the health insurance industry. He loved sharing his knowledge and love of all music genres with others.
