Deborah Fioravante White
Deborah Fioravante White, 64, passed away peacefully at her home on October 12, 2020, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on April 10, 1956 in Elmont, Long Island, New York. On December 18, 1977, Deborah married Michael Patrick White. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1978, and later attended Samford University where she earned a Master in Educational Administration. Deborah and Michael moved to Birmingham in 1983, where Deborah was actively engaged in the community and had a lifelong interest in education and charitable causes. She generously gave both her time and resources, and was especially passionate about helping organizations that benefit women and children, serving on the board of directors of the YWCA, Oasis, and Camp Smile-a-Mile. She was also a dedicated member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Junior League of Birmingham. After teaching Spanish at Pizitz Middle School, Deborah became Principal of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School from 1994 - 2002. During her tenure, the school underwent a complete renovation to update facilities and enhance its academic environment. Upon retirement, Deborah worked part-time at Marguerite's Conceits in Mountain Brook. Deborah enthusiastically followed the University of Florida athletic programs and was a lifelong fan. In Maine, she created her own oasis and soaked in each moment spent on the coastline. For pleasure, she enjoyed walking, travel, reading, Mah Jongg, and music. Her unforgettable smile, kind and caring heart, and joyful spirit will be missed by all of those that she touched. Deborah is survived by her husband, Michael along with her children, Craig (Ann Bailey) White of Birmingham, AL, Ryan (Chris) White of Birmingham, AL, and Morgan (Jordan) Stine of Brooklyn, NY, grandchildren, Riley and Carlisle, and step-grandchildren, Jacob and Madeline, all of Birmingham, AL. Also surviving, are her mother, Rosemarie Fioravante of Birmingham, MI, her sister, Lauren Hurst of Sylvania, OH, and her brother, Philip Fioravante of Birmingham, MI. She was predeceased by her father, Lawrence Fioravante. A private funeral service will be held on October 16, 2020, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with internment in the Columbarium.
