Richard Brant Ward
Richard Brant Ward, age 80, of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away after a brief illness on October 7, 2020 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence. He was born on April 22,1940 in Orange, NJ, son of Ward Sylvester Ward and Harriet May (Brant) Ward. He grew up in West Orange, NJ attending The Pingry School before going to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for architecture. He knew he wanted to design buildings from the time he was a small child and loved his career. It spanned decades and the community was touched by his works in industrial design, renovation and several residential projects. He especially found his professional home with Nutec Design Associates in York, PA. His hobbies included skiing, golf, bowling, painting watercolors, gardening and household projects. He attended Unity Church and sang in the choir for years. Surviving are a daughter, Laura Ward Voigt (Andrew), grandchildren Katie and Sarah, son Scott J. Ward (Nisreen Azar) and granddaughter Salix. He was predeceased by his wife Diane Delle Ward in 2004 and his brother John A Ward in 2013. He will be interred privately at Mount Rose Cemetery and a virtual memorial will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Cape Cod Sea Camps where he spent every summer from 1947 through college. www.pennlive.com/obits
