Mary Cunningham Poorman of Rancho Mirage, California. Born Mary Helen Durkee on August 17, 1930, to Colonel Robert E. Durkee and Melissa Kay Harbaugh in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She attended Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in Pasadena and graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. Married to James Willingham in Long Beach, California, where they raised four children, Scott, Melinda, Brent, and Brad. They opened the Buick agency in Long Beach and now Brad owns it along with a Cadillac dealership. Divorced after 25 years, she remarried Alexander Cunningham, executive vice president of General Motors. Together they traveled the world as he had responsibility for 33 countries. Retiring to Rancho Mirage, California in 1986, Alex suffered a devastating stroke, he died in 1997. Mary remarried Colonel Don Poorman in 2000 and they have enjoyed many wonderful years together. She was president of her PEO chapter, on the board of Opera Pacific, Muses of McCallum Theater. President of Actives class of Junior League in Long Beach. Member of Saint Margaret's Church, Thunderbird Country Club, and Center Club, Orange County. She is survived by her loving husband, three sons and their families, and nine grandchildren. Mary requested that no services be arranged.
