In memory of
COMEAUX, Judy With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Judy Comeaux on October 10, 2020. After 82 years of blessed time on this earth, she is now peacefully in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Judy lived every day of her life with hope and love, and has gone beyond to the infinite morning of a day without a tomorrow. Judy was born on May 14, 1938 in Port Arthur, Texas, to loving Christian parents, John Thomas Urwin, Jr. and Jo Frances McNally Urwin. She was blessed with happy adolescent years in Port Arthur, where she went on to graduate from Thomas Jefferson High School, and then attended Baylor University and The University of Texas. She married her high school sweetheart, Ray James (Jim) Comeaux, on August 29, 1958. They were happily married for over 60 years and loved every minute of the time they were together on this earth. Judy loved to laugh. She always had that beautiful smile that brightened the day for everyone she met. Her most joyful family moments were the births of their two children, Carol Elaine Comeaux Carrington and Craig Stephen Comeaux, Sr. Years later her joy continued with the birth of five grandsons, Clayton Lambert Comeaux, Richard Howland Comeaux, Bennett Searcy Comeaux, James Grant Carrington and Craig Stephen Comeaux, Jr. They meant everything to her, and she delighted in watching them grow up. One of the happiest events in her life occurred in August of 2008 when the whole family traveled to The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, to celebrate Judy and Jim's Golden Wedding Anniversary. In 1972 Jim was appointed Vice President of Korea Oil Corporation, and the whole family moved to Seoul, South Korea. It was a broadening experience for everyone, and sparked in Judy a lifelong interest in traveling to other countries and learning about their cultures. The most memorable day in all her travels was April 11, 1995. She had a private meeting with Mother Teresa at her Sisters of Charity Hospital in Calcutta, India. Her interest in traveling continued throughout her life. Judy was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and The Altar Society, The Dallas Country Club, The Dallas Woman's Club, The Mary K. Craig Class and the Marianne Scruggs Garden Club. She loved her family and friends, and they filled her days with many happy hours. Judy was preceded in death by Jim Comeaux, her husband of 61 years. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Carrington of Dallas and her husband, Richard; her son, Craig Comeaux of San Antonio and his wife, Catherine; and her beloved grandsons. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 36006, Dallas, Texas 75235, or to The Dallas Woman's Club Foundation, 7000 Park Lane, Dallas, Texas 75225, in memory of Judy Comeaux.
