Phyllis J. Byers, 84, of Dillsburg passed away Monday, October 12, 2020, at the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. She was born September 20, 1936, in Windsor, PA the daughter of the late Austin and Fairy (Bubb) Schmuck. Phyllis was a retired senior buyer for IBM, Mechanicsburg. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dillsburg and was a graduate of the former East Berlin High School, class of 1954. Phyllis is survived by her husband, James C. Byers; one son, Jeffrey Brough of Dillsburg; one daughter, Sherry Hejmanowski and her companion Doug Whitcomb of Dillsburg; three step-daughters, Denise Thomma of Fairfax Station, VA, Cheryl Bednar of Titusville, FL, Joan Fullard of Mechanicsburg; two brothers, Larry Schmuck of Quarryville, Jim Schmuck of Dover; two sisters, Elaine Claybaugh of Dover, Mary Jacobs of East Berin; four grandchildren, Shane, Ryan, Kyle Hejmanowski, Carrie Brough; and five step-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020, at 11:00 am in the Dillsburg Cemetery-Mountain Road. Memorial contributions may be made to her church, St. Paul Lutheran Church, 201 South Baltimore St., Dillsburg, PA 17019.
