Robert Holland DeHart FORKS TOWNSHIP Robert Holland DeHart, 95, formerly of Forks Township, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2020, in Old Orchard Healthcare. Born November 13, 1924, in Forks Township, PA, he was a son of the late Robert W. and Blanche E. (Rinker) DeHart. His wife of 72 years, Margaret Amelia (Whitehead) DeHart, passed away October 13, 2018. Robert graduated from Easton High School Class of 1942. He proudly served with the US Navy during WWII. Robert retired as a foreman from the former Penn Pump, where he worked for over 40 years. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and playing in a softball league. Robert was a founding member of Faith Lutheran Church where he was active throughout his life. He was a member of Tin Can Sailors National Association of Destroyer Veterans, National American Legion and the United States Navy Memorial Destroyer Escort Historical Foundation. Surviving are a son, Robert M. DeHart and his wife Donna, of Wind Gap; two daughters, Lynda Miller of Forks Township and Gayle Reuss and her husband, Roland, of Nazareth; a foster son, Henry Dennis and his wife, Audrey, of Forks Township; seven grandchildren, Stacy Schumacher and her husband, Ric, Liza Connell and her husband, Kevin, Jenna Miller, Desiree Flowers and her companion, Ryan Maas, Raina Kearney and her husband, Frank, Rob Streich and Daniel Reuss and his companion, Lindsey Poncavage; 10 great-grandchildren, Tre, Aniya, Theia, Lexie, Macklin, Ty, Shae, Caiden, Kamryn and Karsen and a goddaughter, Patricia Zuber and her husband, Ricky, of Wyomissing. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son-in-law, William Miller and a brother, John DeHart. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Northampton Memorial Shrine, 3051 Green Pond Road, Palmer Township. Arrangements are by the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough.
