RUSSELL, Barbara Hazlewood Passed away on October 8, 2020. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. As well as living a long loving life, she had a successful career in the Dallas Independent School District. Barbara received a bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University, a master's degree and a Doctorate degree in education from East Texas State University (A&M-Commerce). She began her teaching career as a student teacher at Sunset High School, and later transferred to Bryan Adams High School where she taught Vocational Office Education. She was promoted to the Dean of Instruction at the Business Magnet High School and retired as an Assistant Principal directing the Career Development Center at Skyline High School. In her early years, she attended Grace Methodist Church. For the past 20 years, she was a member of Highland Oaks Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Sam Russell; son, Mike Hazlewood; and grandchildren Ryan Hazlewood, Evan Hazlewood, and Amber Hazlewood. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 15, at 10:00 A.M., at Highland Oaks Church of Christ, 10805 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, TX 75238.
