In memory of
Thomas Malcolm Ash
Thomas Malcolm Ash Chili - On Tuesday, September 15th, 2020, while surrounded by his loving family, Thomas passed peacefully after his 20 year battle with Parkinson's, at the age of 70. Thom is survived by his wife, Sharon Ash (Lang), daughters, Heather (Jim) Burroughs and Erin Ash, four grandchildren: Elliana, Devyn, James, and Lillian, his sister, Bonnie (David) Breedlove and brother, Russ (Sharon) Ash. Thom was predeceased by his sisters, Louise Long and Kathy Bertan. Thom was loved by many for his compassionate and caring disposition. As a Husband, Father, and Papa, Thom taught us the true meaning of unconditional love. He was quick to offer support or guidance to the people in his inner circle, as well as new acquaintances who were in need. Thom listened with an open mind and never made anyone feel rushed. His dry sense of humor often made us wonder, until we saw his smirk, and knew it was okay to laugh! These qualities made him a wonderful school psychologist for over 30 years. Thom not only inspired the children he worked with to become better advocates for themselves, but also guided young college students going into the education field at Nazareth College. Before the limitations of Parkinson's crept in, Thom loved making his home beautiful with various projects inside and out. Thom enjoyed gardening, skiing, riding his bike, and spending time with the ones he loved. While his ability to speak was diminished by his medical challenges, his ability to love never wavered. A Memorial Service celebrating Thom's life will be held at 1:00PM on Sat. October 3rd, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 158 East Ave, Hilton, NY 14468. Due to the current pandemic, all in attendance are required to wear masks and social distancing guidelines must be followed. For those who will miss Thom dearly and want to pay tribute to his life and all those he touched, please consider donating to the Parkinson's Foundation, 1000 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14620.
