Boardman - Richard Lawrence Buzin, 74, died September 5, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born January 25, 1946 in Youngstown, OH, the son of Lawrence and Julia Buzin. Rich graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Youngstown, OH, where he was a stand-out athlete who excelled in basketball and football. Following graduation, he attended The Pennsylvania State University where he had a standout college football career and was, subsequently, entered into the Penn State Football Hall of Fame. Upon graduating from Penn State in 1968, he was drafted by the New York Giants. He later went on to play for the Los Angeles Rams and the Chicago Bears. Following his time in the National Football League, Rich embarked on a 30-year career in the financial sector. Rich was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Johns, and a brother, Walter. Surviving are his son Michael (Susan), Downingtown, PA; daughter Kristina Keacher (Donald), Pingree Grove, IL; grandchildren Katharine, Sarah, and Jacob, Downingtown, PA; brother-in-law, William Johns, Boardman, OH and several nieces and nephews. There will be a Private Family Service of Remembrance. Friends may call from 12-1 p.m. on Saturday, September 19th at Lane Family Funeral Homes- Anstrom Chapel, 8387 Tod Ave, Boardman, OH 44512.
