Irene Mary Cahill, 83 Wonderful mother and homemaker Irene Mary Cahill, 83, passed away peacefully on Sept. 13, 2020, with her family by her side. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Dec. 7, 1936, to Anne and Thomas Fleming. She married her friend and love, William Cahill, in 1962 and remained beautiful partners until his death in 2002. Together they raised three children, Kathleen Laverie (Ronald), James Cahill (Geeta), and Jacqueline Mulligan (James). She was redeacesed by daughter, Traci. She especially loved her role as Nana to her seven grandchildren, Jessica , Allison, James, Brian, Trent, Shannon, Shane, four great-grandchildren and two more on the way. She is reunited with her three siblings, Thomas, Maryanne and Daniel. She is also survived by her loving nieces, nephews, and so many friends. Irene lived a full and wonderful life as a mother and homemaker on Staten Island. She enjoyed the company of her family and her lifelong close friends. In 2011 she retired to Arizona with her beloved dog, Jonsey, where she established another group of close friends. All whom loved her dearly will never forget her generosity, wit, humor and her undying love and caring for them. The funeral is from Hanley Funeral Home, 60 New Dorp Lane, 8:30 a.m., Thursday, followed by Mass is at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 9:30 a.m. Interment is at Moravian Cemetery.
