In memory of
Angelo Leotta
Angelo Leotta Proud veteran, devoted family man, owned auto repair in Rossville Angelo Leotta of Great Kills passed away on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020. Born on Staten Island to the late Mario and Grace, Angelo owned and operated Angelo Leotta's automotive repair in Rossville. A proud Army veteran, Angelo served during the Korean War and then in the Reserve until 1962. Although Angelo spent most of his life repairing automobiles, his true passion was flying model airplanes. He was a member of the Richmond Flying Club, as well as the Great Kills Swim Club and the Lions Club. Angelo's greatest joy was found with the time he spent with his family, especially with his grandchildren. He was a man of simple pleasures, who never asked for much but gave so much to others, asking nothing in return. For over 30 years there was a tradition in the Leotta home, on Christmas morning Angelo would cook breakfast for his family and anyone else who wanted to come over , no invitation was needed, it was an Open House, and no one was ever turned away. He and Angela started another tradition, that dates back years, each Saturday evening they would go dinner with friends, they never missed a weekend. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Angela; his children, Lori Gibbons, Lynn Francomano and Mario. He was the devoted grandfather to his 9 grandchildren and his great-grandchild. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, 28 Eltingville Blvd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at the Church of St. Clare at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Contributions in Angelo's memory can be made to the Eden II & Genesis Foundation, www.eden2.org . Due to Covid-19 restrictions imposed upon us, masks must be worn when entering and when inside the Funeral Home. Capacity is limited to 40 people so we kindly ask that after paying your respects you exit the building thus allowing others entry.
