David Wayne Harchelroad Age 50, passed away at home on Sept. 9, 2020. David was born in Birmingham, AL in 1969. He attended Mountain Brook High School, Class of '88, graduated from Auburn University and achieved a Masters of Civil Engineering from UAB. He worked for Substation Products Corp. Inc. for 27 years; he became President and assumed ownership in 2017. Dave was known for his big heart and equally big smile. He was an avid music fan and a loving father. David was a member of St. Mary's-On-the-Highlands. He is preceded in death by his parents, John "Jack" R. Harchelroad, Sr. and Doris Curnow Harchelroad and by his sister Debra Harchelroad Guthrie. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Leigh Ann Whitson Harchelroad and his 3 children, Jack, Hill and Hallie. David is survived by his sisters, Sharon Ritchie (Shannon), Susan Harchelroad and his brother John R. Harchelroad Jr. (Laura) and 4 nieces and nephews. There will be a private service for the family. A Celebration of Life via Zoom will occur on October 11, 2020.In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Crisis Center Birmingham, 3600 8th Ave. S., Bham, AL 35222.
