Doris Vasilike Elmo Rancho Mirage - Mrs Doris Elmo of Rancho Mirage, passed away on September 9, she was 93 years old. Doris, was a business owner, she was part owner of the Bayonne Broadway Diner in Bayonne New Jersey, then built and was part owner of the Chandelier Steak House. After moving to California, Doris worked at the Canyon Hotel in Palm Springs and also at Lord Fletchers in Rancho Mirage. Doris then bought and owned the Sand Trap Bar and Grill in Cathedral City. Doris also worshiped God and was very involved with the St George Greek Church, where she also volunteered yearly at the famous Greek festival. Doris loved Greek music and dancing, she carried on her heritage by baking Greek cookies and teaching her granddaughters how to make dolmas, (stuffed grape leaves). Doris will be remembered by her family and friends as a vivacious, energetic woman, always smiling. Doris is predeceased by her son Thomas Elmo Jr, and is survived by her daughter Nancy Caffery, son in law Tom, grandchildren, Kristopher, Heather and Michelle, 8 great grandchildren, and her brother William Gargiles of New Jersey.
