Marie F. Corbo Retired from St. Vincent's Nursing Home; beloved grandmother Marie F. Corbo, 90, of Bloomfield, N.J.,passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, Sept. 11, 2020. Visitation is Tuesday, 8:30 to 10 a.m., at the Megaro Memorial Home, 503 Union Ave., Belleville, N.J., ( megaromemorialhome.com ) followed by a 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Belleville, N.J., and entombment in Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, East Hanover, N.J. Born in Belleville, Marie lived in Bloomfield for the past 57 years. She is survived by her daughter, Sally Ann and her husband, Steven Backfisch; her son, Peter and his fiancee, Gail DeStefano, and her beloved granddaughter, Catherine Backfisch. She was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore Corbo Jr.; her parents, Anthony and Mary (nee LaBadia) Christiano, and two brothers, Peter and Angelo Christiano. Marie retired from St. Vincent's Nursing Home in 2012 and had previously worked for Kerr Glass and Lehn and Fink. She was a member of the Bloomfield Woman's Club, active with the Sisters of Charity, St. Vincent's Auxiliary and Fairview Home and School Association. She will be remembered for her love of family, friends, attending a fun party, cookie baking, and a fine scotch. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, Tenn. 38105, www.stjude.org . or the charity of your choice.
