Bowman, Helen 12/10/1947 - 9/11/2020 Pinckney Her Legacy… Helen Eugenia "Genie" Bowman, age 72, passed away September 11, 2020. She was born on December 10, 1947, in Farmville, Virginia to Fredrick and Helen (Langford) Clark. Genie married the love of her life, Gerald "Jerry" Bowman, on December 29, 1967, in Richmond, VA. She enjoyed traveling around the United States. Genie had horses for many years. She homeschooled her children when they were growing up. Genie was a librarian at the Hamburg Township Library. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading. She was an avid knitter, and liked to teach and help others knit. Most of all, Genie loved spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her Family… Genie leaves behind her sons, JJ (Miriam), Garret (Katie); and grandchildren, Wesley, Isabella, and Iva. She is also survived by her father, George; sisters, Georgia and Darlene; and loving dog, EB. Genie is preceded in death by her mother, Helen; husband, Jerry of 38 years; daughter, Jessica Bowman; and sister, Barbara. Her Farewell… Genie's Community Farewell will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 11AM at Hiawatha Bible Church with a gathering beginning at 10AM until the time of service. Pastor Jerry Wichert will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
