73, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away possibly May 2, 2020, posted date of death is May 7, 2020. Born in Manhattan, N.Y.; 12/2/46. Lived in the Bronx with parents and his sister Pat (Cassidy) Kawas. Was dependent of Army SFC (spec. 7) John Joseph Cassidy III and Rose Helen Heinzmann Cassidy III. Lived in Ismir, Turkey, 1954 to 57; in N.Y. and Massachusetts; Altoona, Pa. and at Ft. Monmouth, N.J. and Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, all in the 1960's Attended 5 high schools; 9th at Bishop Guilfoyle in Altoona, Pa. Finished 9th at Long Branch H.S. in N.J. Went to 10th /11th at CBA in Lincroft N.J. Finished 11th at CBA in Santa Fe, N.M. and went to 12th/ senior year, graduated-1964 at Jesuit, Brophy Prep H.S. in Phoenix Az. Graduated-1968 or 69 from Manhattan College in N.Y. with a B.S.in Physics, Dean's Honor List…Minor in math. Went on to University of Nevada, in Reno, Nevada. Education level, master's degree in Physics. Worked as Field Tech. for U. of Nevada. Was a calibration Technician while in the U.S. Army. Graduated first-in-class in Army calibration school, (1976-1980). He loved snorkeling and scuba diving at Lake Tahoe. Worked at the Sacramento Army Depot, in Sacramento, Ca.; in the 1980's, until 1995 when it closed, then was transferred to Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville Al.; worked there as a physicist and retired from there in 2010. From 1970 to 1986 was married to Bertha (Belle) Cohen Dietz and divorced after 15 yrs. of marriage. Enjoyed travel, seeing the sights of many states and other countries, with a lovely good friend and traveling companion, June Thompson from England, living in Arkansas. Also enjoyed in his lifetime swimming, rowing, reading and classical music. Predeceased by parents and all aunts and uncles. Surviving is his only sister Pat and her family, husband Charles Sr. and the nephews are Charlie Jr., Kevin, David and only niece Maureen and 7 first cousins and 3 great nephews, Kasey (Kevin's son), Aiden and Hunter (Charlie Jr's twin sons).
