Hanekamp, Anita 11/10/1951 - 9/1/2020 Superior Township Anita Marie (White) Hanekamp, 68 of Superior Township, MI, died Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at home in her sleep of natural causes. Born November 10, 1951 in Cumberland, Maryland, she was the youngest of five children born to Norman Hiser White and Mae Elizabeth (Hansrote) White. She was also proceeded in death by her parents Norman & Mae White, her brother Jerry White and sister Kay (White) Barmoy. Mrs. Hanekamp was a teacher of grade school, computer training, and an avid bible study teacher for over 40 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and children and throughout her life she lived in five states: Maryland, Nebraska, Michigan, Texas and Alabama. She was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing and painting sceneries and live portraits, other hobbies included sewing and cooking. She was a member of Solid Rock Church of Ann Arbor and received the Holy Ghost on October 16, 1977 and was baptized in name of Jesus at Apostolic Faith Church in Ypsilanti, MI. according to Acts 2:38 and continued in her faith for 43 years; it was her great pleasure to mentor and teach new converts and she always had a word of encouragement for others. She was a member of the 'Red Hats Society' and enjoyed many groups of life-long friendships and was an adopted "Mom" or "Nana" to many. Survivors include husband Donald William Hanekamp Jr. who celebrated fifty years of marriage this year in 2020, and four children; Jill (Hanekamp) Potts of Superior Twp. MI, Ryan Hanekamp and wife Nancy of Ypsilanti, MI, Linda Hanekamp of Desoto, TX, and Angela Hanekamp of Superior Twp., MI; One grandchild Carissa Hanekamp; one brother David White of Cumberland, MD and one sister Jane (White) Chamberlain of Cumberland, MD. Memorial Service will be conducted on Sunday September 13, 2020 at 5:00pm at Solid Rock Church of Ann Arbor with Rev. Brian Jones, Rev. Kyle Turner and Rev. Dewayne Rasor officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery Ypsilanti, Michigan at a future date.
