He was born to Jack and Tillie Marantz on June 10, 1938, in Los Angeles, California. He married Dianne Slomann on April 21, 1963, and they were married for 49 years before she passed away from cancer in 2012. George touched many lives through his generosity, and was always good for one of his many larger than life stories to keep you entertained. George is survived by his son, Brian; and his grandson, Steven, both of whom reside in Woodinville, Washington. He is also survived by his brother, Lawrence Marantz of Sherman Oaks, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Isaiah in the name of George Marantz, at 332 W Alejo Rd, Palm Springs, CA 92262 Due to Covid-19 restrictions, burial will be private.
