In memory of
James Robert "Jim" Freelon Jr.
James "Jim" Robert Freelon Jr 58 was called home by the Lord on September 3, 2020. His final days were spent at his home in Panama City Beach, Florida with his beloved wife of 34 years, Virginia Lynn Freelon (Erhardt) and then finally with his friends & brothers in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska where he worked as a Journeyman Electrician and was affectionately known as "King of the Pool Table".  Jim was born on April 29, 1962 to James Robert Freelon Sr and Karen Rae Freelon (Austin) in Ashland, Ohio. He grew up in Jeromesville, Ohio and graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1980. He was given his foundation in Christ at the Jeromesville Christian Church. He was a Private First Class in the Army National Guard. He achieved his 4 year Journeyman Electrician certificate which led him to a very successful career first with the IBEW Local 688 in Mansfield, Ohio, then as a member of the USW Local 4959 in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska where he was part of BP Exploration and Hilcorp Alaska LLC. Jim is a member of the Woodstock Church in Panama City Beach, Florida.  Jim spent his days at his home on the beach. He enjoyed woodworking as a Master Carpenter and his homes showed it! He loved riding his motorcycle "Scarlet".  Recently he and Lynn completed remodeling the "Starfish", a beach home for friends and family to use while visiting.  Jim tirelessly worked on the dream that he and Lynn shared, "You and Me, By the Sea, Baby!" Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Edna Freelon, and Paul and Cordelia Austin. Also his father, James Robert Freelon Sr.  Jim left behind his wife whom he married on May 29th, 1986, Virginia Lynn Freelon (Erhardt); Daughter, Salena (Jason) Chio of Ashland, OH; God daughter, Jill (Heath) Meyer of Jeromesville, OH; Grandsons, Skyler Chio, Dylan Chio and Jacob Chio; Mother, Karen Freelon of Jeromesville, OH ; Sister, Kass (Robert) Poynter of Jeromesville, OH; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; Loyal best friend, Jeff (Dinah) Bee of Tampa, FL; and more friends than could ever be listed. A special thank you to Brian Plummer, co-worker, who "never left his side" on his final journey off the North Slope.  "We're gonna miss that witty guy" There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Donations in his memory can be sent to Jeromesville Christian Church P.O. Box 55 Jeromesville, Ohio 44840.  Wilson Funeral Home Family Owned Since 1911 214 Airport Road Panama City, Fla. 850-785-5272
