In memory of
Melanie Dorough Williams, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly on August 6th, 2020 at the age of 58. Melanie was a devoted wife, mother, GrandMellie and friend. She was a second mother for so many and a best friend for all. She could do anything she put her mind on to do. Melanie had an infectious personality and never met a stranger. She always enjoyed life to the fullest and everyone loved being around her. She loved Auburn football and hosting events for family and friends. She adored vacationing in the Caribbean and the Florida Keys. Melanie loved her boys, they were her pride and joy. She was a fully involved mother volunteering for all sports events and so much more. She cherished her granddaughter, Zoee. Melanie was known as Zoee's "GrandMellie". They spent most weekends together. Melanie loved spoiling Zoee as much as she could and they spent a lot of times cooking, crafting, shopping, swimming and playing. Melanie, was born February 27th 1962 in Birmingham, AL. She worked as a Technical Coordinator for the US Army. She attended Auburn University, UAB, Palm Beach Junior College and Florida Atlantic University. She graduated from Homewood High School in 1980. She was proceeded in death by her mother and father, Jim and Joan Dorough; niece, Ann Noble Carlton. She is survived by husband, David Alan Williams. Children, Alan Christopher Williams, Mark Lawton Williams, Patrick David Williams (Sarah Williams); grand-daughter Zoee Joy Williams. Siblings, James "Jim" Henry Dorough Jr (Mary-Lee Dorough); David Allison Dorough (Lynn Dorough), Bonnie Dorough Alvord (Robert Alvord), and John Lawton Dorough (Mary Dorough). Melanie was also the "favorite aunt" to many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held and announced at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be given to the American Heart Association or charity of choice. The family expresses sincere gratitude for the loving support of her many friends.
