Shelba "Jeanie" Stowe
BURLINGTON – Shelba "Jeanie" Stowe, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several weeks of failing health. A native of Alamance County, she was born July 18, 1937 to the late Eulon and Flossie Maness and was the wife to the late Billy Delano Stowe for 31 years. Jeanie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved caring for all of her family and was a phenomenal cook. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a graduate of Williams High School. She is survived by her sons, Del Stowe (Sharon), Jonathan Stowe (Deborah); daughter, Susan Stowe; grandchildren, Grace Shanklin (Daniel), Gabrielle Wolfe (Christian), Illyana Higginbotham, Audrey Stowe Martinez (Joshua), Anna Stowe, William Evan Stowe and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. A private celebration of life will be held 2:00pm on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Boyd Pickard with the burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. Anyone wishing to pay their respects will have the opportunity from 11:00am until 1:30pm on Tuesday prior to the service. Due to Covid-19, the family will not be receiving friends at the family home.
