Richard "Suk" Eugene Bosarge, 78, a lifelong resident of Jackson County, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2020. He was born on August 26, 1941 in Pascagoula, Mississippi to William Bosarge and Ruth Mizell. Richard was one of three children. On October 23, 1966 he married Shirley Rouse Bosarge of Moss Point. The two were married for 42 years until her untimely death, and they had three children. Upon graduating from Moss Point High School in 1959, Richard served four years in the United States Marine Corps most of which were stationed in Hawaii. Following this, he was employed by International Paper Company in Moss Point and worked there for several years. He then went on to work at Chevron Refinery for over 30 years until retirement. Richard was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Escatawpa. He had a passion for boating and fishing. He is survived by his children, Richard Bosarge Jr, Amy Bosarge Herrington and her husband Michael Herrington, Preston Bosarge and his wife Jennifer Bosarge; grandchildren, Gunnar Bosarge, Presleigh Bosarge, Reagan Herrington; great granddaughter, Luna Claire Bosarge; sister, Barbara Adams and her husband Jay Adams; brother, Mike Bosarge; and nieces, Caroline Adams and Angela Butler. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Shirley Bosarge. A private graveside memorial service will be held for family to celebrate his life.
