Mandrell "(Drell)" Edward Davis was born to Jeanette Leaverne Alston and the late Emmanuel Edward Davis, on August 24, 1990 in Alamance County. Drell, as he was affectionately known, was the third of five children. He departed this life on Thursday, August 6, 2020. He became a member of Mebane First Baptist Church. Mandrell attended Walter Williams High School. He was an active father who loved his son and daughter, Mandrell Edward Davis Jr. and Keziah Renee Davis. He built a close bond with his brothers from another mother. Anthony (Ant), Terez, Wise, Johnny (J.O), George and Markell. Mandrell also survived by his partner of 9 years Ashely Davis of Burlington NC. Mandrell touched many lives, in the community and throughout his family. Mandrell would exit with his powerful words "I love you". He was a faithful worker at East Coast Wings + Grill where he worked diligently to earn a promotion as Cooperate trainer until he was called home. Mandrell was a dedicated family oriented man that would put his family first. He showed love and compassion for other amongst his family and friend. Mandrell was preceded in death by his father Emmanuel Edward Davis, in 1997, Grandfather Rev. John E. Davis in 2014, and his grandmother, Dorothy Ann Clack, in 2007. Those who shared the joys of life and survive to cherish his memoirs are: his mother, Jeanette Leaverne Alston (Wamon Lewis Alston) of Burlington, North Carolina; daughter, Keziah Renee Davis, and Son, Mandrell Edward Davis Jr. of Burlington, North Carolina; four sibling, Candice Marie Herbin, sister (partner Steven Enoch); Emanuel Edward Davis Jr., Brother (Chantelle Davis); Asia Ja'ness Herbin, sister; Mariah Alston, sister; Betty Jean Herbin, grandmother (partner Dick Foust); Carolyn Collier Davis, grandmother; uncles, aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 3pm in the Roy Blackwell Chapel of Blackwell Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Visitation will be held from 2-3pm with the family arriving at 2:30pm. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 11th from 1-8pm in the Roy Blackwell Chapel. Burial will be held in the Memorial Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
