ALLISON JR., L.D. L.D. Allison, Jr. passed away after a brief illness on July 25, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife 58 years, Helen Campbell Allison, in 2005; his wife of 8 years, Dolores Steif Allison, in 2015; his sisters Geneva Hiser, Wanda Hall, and Virginia McColley; and his daughter in law Bente Osteraas in 2009. L.D. was born in Sherman, Texas on January 9, 1928. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1946 and Austin College in 1959. L.D. served in the Air Force during The Korean Conflict. He worked for 27 years for Sun Oil Company in Dallas. L.D. is survived by daughter Susan Allison of Richardson, TX; son William (Bill) Allison of Beaufort S.C., grandsons Mikkel and Martin Allison; stepdaughter Gretchen Zeithamel of Las Vegas; and brother Jerry Allison of Denison, TX., as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many beloved friends. Services will be planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers , memorials may be made in L.D.'s name to the North Texas Food Bank: www.ntfb.org or to a charity of your choice.
