Rose Mary "Flihan" Flihan
Rose Mary Flihan "Miss Flihan" Irondequoit - Taken home for eternal life on Monday, April 20, 2020. She was predeceased by her parents, FJ Flihan and Rose Shaheen Flihan. Rose Mary was born and raised in Utica, NY, graduated from Lemoyne College and received her Masters Degree in Education from Colgate University. She is survived by her sister, Theresa Karrat; brothers, Anthony J. Flihan, and F. Peter Flihan; also several nieces and nephews and many extended family members in Utica. Rose Mary was devoted to her family and proud of the accomplishments of the students she taught in the Pittsford School System. She often would remark while reading the newspaper, "that's one of my students". She received a Lifetime Achievement Award along with other distinctive recognition's during her tenure. In retirement, she volunteered her time for the advancement of the less fortunate, and loved to travel, play golf and tennis. Rose Mary's Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, August 5th at 10:00am at St. Kateri at St. Cecilia Church, 2732 Culver Rd.
