Mary Rutledge
Mary Rutledge, 91, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2020. Born July 5, 1929 in Talladega, she was the youngest of four siblings. She married her High School sweetheart Jack Rutledge and they were happily married for more than 50 years in Birmingham. She survived the death of Jack in May 26, 2000. She was a wonderful mother of two boys and she was proud of their accomplishments- one of them being that both sons were National Championship Quarterbacks at the University of Alabama. She was a faithful Alabama fan and known for her sweet confections & angel collection. She was long time member of Ruhama Baptist Church and First Baptist Trussville Church and her faith in Jesus was a big part of her life. She loved to read and she came alive when she heard Johnny Cash. She is survived by her children, Gary Rutledge & his wife Kathy, Jeff Rutledge & his wife Laura; grandchildren, Lyndy Rutledge, Stacey Carden, Brett Rutledge, Brooks Rutledge, Christen Barfield, & Meg Smith; as well as 14 great grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held for Mary on August 4, 2020 at Forest Hills Cemetery.
