Mary S. Shank, 92, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania passed away at Carolyn's House on Saturday, July 25, 2020. Mary was born on January 07, 1928 to George and Myra (Stutsman) Swilkey in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. After graduating high school, she went on to attend the Harrisburg Nursing School and got her nursing degree. She spent her career as a nurse for the Harrisburg School District and the Harrisburg State Hospital. Mary was an avid reader who loved to read anything and everything. Mary is preceded by her parents, George and Myra, and her sister Anna Neely. She is survived by her children Susan (Patrick) Moran of West Chester, David (Lora) Shank of Oreland, Elizabeth (John) Peris of Lancaster, Stephen Shank of Manheim, her sister Martha Swilkey, and her grand-daughter Elizabeth Moran. Mary will be buried at Harrisburg Cemetery with a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that people make contributions to the Hospice of Central Pennsylvania in Mary's memory. Services have been entrusted to the Central Pennsylvania Cremation Society, 3125 Walnut St., Harrisburg.
