Eugene Mulcahy Loving husband Eugene Mulcahy (Gene), 74, died unexpectedly from natural causes, Monday July 27, 2020 in his new home in Toms River, N.J. Previously, he resided in Linden, N.J., with his wife, Lois, for 26 years. Gene was born in Jersey City, N.J. He attended schools there including Henry Snyder High School, class of 1964. He retired from Jersey City Board of Education as a maintenance supervisor, as well as obtaining a Black Seal Certificate to maintain the boiler operations. He also liked teaching his skills to others at night in classrooms at various locations in Jersey City. Gene liked listening to "Cowboy" country music, attending Doo Wop concerts and spending time with his family. His love of the open road led him to buy a Harley motorcycle and become a member of The Brotherhood MC of Jersey City. Surviving are his devoted wife of 25 years, Lois (nee LaScala); sisters, Margaret Rose Mulcahy, and Kathleen Donner; and sister-in-law Rita Mulcahy, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Rose Mulcahy; father, James Leo Mulcahy, and brother, James Joseph Mulcahy. Funeral arrangements as followed, Dooley's Funeral Home, 218 North Ave. West, Cranford N.J. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 2, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday Aug. 3. The Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m., at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 220 East Blancke St., Linden, N.J. Friends and family will be able to say their final goodbyes from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., at the funeral home prior to Mass. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
