In memory of
James Trabue "Jim" Rountree II
ROUNTREE, James Trabue II "Jim" James Trabue II," Jim" Rountree, was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on November 19, 1937 to James and Mary Rountree. Jim died peacefully at his home in Anna, Texas on July 29th, 2020. Jim was raised in Dallas, Texas where he attended Sacred Heart, Jesuit Academy and graduated from North Texas University, even though he was a Texas A&M Aggie at heart. He married his first wife, Patsy "Pat" Kennedy, in 1961 and resided in Richardson for 39 years. Jim and Pat moved to Anna, Texas in 1999 into their dream retirement home and closer to his favorite golf course, Hurricane Creek. After the death of Pat in 2012, Jim found love again with Susan Nealon. They were married on May 2, 2015, and celebrated not the years they had together, but months, knowing they were a "vintage couple". Preceded in death by his parents, Jim is survived by his wife, Susan; children, James T. Rountree III and wife Cynthia Renee Rountree, Neil Kennedy Rountree, Michael John Rountree, Marilee Lynn Gaughan; step children, Kimberly Bomberger, and husband Michael Bomberger, David Nealon and Joanne Gulnac, Krissy Womack and husband Kevin Womack; brothers, William Rountree, Paul Rountree; sisters, Mary Sue Holder and Dorothy Jordan; brother-in-law, Michael Neil Kennedy and wife Betty Lou Kennedy; 7 grandchildren, Allison Lynn Gaughan, Ryan Michael Gaughan, Cecelia Lynn Rountree, James Trabue Rountree IV, Elise Rountree, Huang Rountree and Lilas Rountree; and step grand- children, Tyler Womack, Kallie Womack, Jordan Womack, Robin Bomberger, and Stephen Bomberger . The family appreciates all of the love and support that has been provided the past 6 months by Home Book Care and Faith Presbyterian Hospice, and for all the support and prayers from our amazing friends. There will be a family only Memorial Service Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church in Van Alstyne, TX, to celebrate his life and his journey to be with the Lord. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life reception in honor of Jim once Covid is over for his friends and family to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Anna Scholarship Foundation, www.AnnaScholarships.org . Until we can be together to celebrate Jim, please remember, "It is the little things that make a difference." You may sign the online register book at www.scogginsfuneralhome.com .
