Shirley Jean Cole Sept. 18, 1934 - July 27, 2020 Shirley Jean Cole passed away July 27, 2020 in Portland, after a long illness. She was 85 years old. Shirley was born Sept. 18, 1934 in Hibbing, Minn., to Guy and Lottie Robertson. She came to Oregon in 1939 when her family moved here to work in the shipyards during World War II. Shirley was married to Donald Cole May 15, 1954 in Holy Cross Catholic Church and they raised four children. Shirley was a homemaker, a supervisor at Purdy Brush Co., president of the Pier Park baseball league for several years and a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She loved country music, dancing, and gardening. Shirley loved all children and they loved her. Shirley is survived by her husband, Don; daughter, Penny Lytle; sons, Michael and Paul Cole; sister, Donna Marshall; and grandchildren: Alissa Clendenin, Brookelynn Sommer, Chase Cole and Jacob and Jordan Miller.
