In memory of
Thomas H. Hackbardt of Sand Lake, Michigan, age 61, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2020. He was born to Albert and Jane Hackbardt on July 30, 1958, in Stanwood, Ml. Tom was born the oldest of three children and grew up just outside of Howard City, Michigan. He was a 1976 graduate of Tri County High School and received a Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University, in agricultural communications. Tom was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fishing, boating, and taking road trips with family. Tom was a devoted husband to his wife of 35 years, Deb. Together, they loved to travel around northern Michigan to sightsee and explore. For the entirety of their marriage, they enjoyed days spent at their home on Big Whitefish Lake taking sunset boat rides and laughing around the campfire. Tom was a loving and caring father who coached his two children in sports as they grew up. He never missed a ball game or chance show his support in all their endeavors. He was their biggest cheerleader. Tom is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-five years Deb Hackbardt; loving children, Jim Hackbardt (Leslie) and Jenny Palmer (Joey); grandchild, Josephine Palmer; father, Albert Hackbardt (Marge) and mother, Jane Hackbardt; sister, Marcella Hackbardt (Garr Uram) and brother, Tim Hackbardt (Michelle); father and mother in law Morey and Norma Beemer. He was preceded in death by his step father-in-law, Jack Damstra. The memorial celebration of life for Tom will be held from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Solon Center Wesleyan Church, 15671 Algoma Ave NE, Cedar Springs, Ml 49319.
