Marie L. Conrad, ne Belsak, 71, of Lower Paxton Township passed away at Penn State Hershey Medical Center on July 29, 2020, from complications of leukemia. Marie was the daughter of Marjorie and John Belsak of Steelton, PA. A graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School and Mansfield University, she was a beloved teacher and colleague at East Pennsboro Area School District where she taught Family and Consumer Science for 23 years. She is survived by her son, Jared, and daughter, Jessica, as well as their respective spouses Ashley Conrad and Sean Close; three grandchildren Jordan, Natalie, and Danielle, with a fourth, Gideon, on the way; two siblings John Belsak and his wife Helen and Karen Griffiths and her husband Glen; two nephews and three nieces and their children; and her fiance Joe Sheesley of Harrisburg, PA. Cherished by family and friends, Marie was known for her beautiful spirit, warmth, and generosity. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday August 5, 2020 in Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Edward J. Quinlan, pastor as celebrant. Burial will be private in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Oberlin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the East Pennsboro Education Foundation, which supplies teachers in the district with small grants and stipends so that they do not have to purchase supplies for their classroom out of pocket.
