Laura G. (Funk) Witmer, age 89, of Harrisburg, PA, passed away quietly, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday July 25, 2020. Laura was born in Lancaster PA on March 6, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Albert Funk and Edith Mae Conway Funk. She is proceeded in death by her husband of 25 years Berne E. Witmer, her daughter Tenley Witmer and by her sisters and brothers; Frannie, Patty, Bill and Albert. Laura is survived by her companion Jonathan Patterson, her son Brian T. Smith, her daughter Wendy Dorer, son Jeffery Witmer and her brother Donald (Butch) Funk. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Brett Graeser, Michael Smith, Erica Blake, Jeffery Witmer Jr. and Alicia Hoxworth, as well as eight great grandchildren. Laura dedicated her life and career to helping parents and their children by operating a day care center for over 42 years. Besides spending time with her cherished family, Laura was a woman of many interests. However, she especially enjoyed gardening, crafting and quilting the most. The quilts she lovingly made will now be treasured mementos for her family Laura's passing will leave a large void in the lives of her family and friends, as well as for all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Services for Laura were held in private.
