Morris Edward "Ed" Phillips
Morris Edward (Ed) Phillips, age 91 of Trussville, went to his home in Heaven on July 29, 2020. Ed was born in Nashville, TN and was the son of Morris Denton Phillips and Bernice Green Phillips. He was retired as an electrical designer with Southern Company Services in Birmingham. Ed was a devoted Christian father and husband, a man of prayer who loved his Lord, and an active elder and deacon in several churches. He was a member of Deerfoot Baptist Church. He was an avid fan of the Crimson Tide and Atlanta Braves. He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn W. Phillips. He is survived by his wife Kathy Phillips, sister Betty Kennedy, son Jim Phillips (Mary), grandchildren Catherine Crowe (Buck), Stephanie Price, James Phillips, Jr. and other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be Monday, August 3, 2020 at 11 am at Forest Crest Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Big Oak Ranch.
