Daniel T. LaVoie July 8, 1951 - July 21, 2020 Dan LaVoie, 69 resident of Hillsboro was born in Norwalk, Ct., July 8, 1951 to Norman and Anne (Pesak) LaVoie, passed away unexpectedly from a dissected aorta. Eldest of four siblings: Larry, Mike, Sue and Dave. In 1975 he met Janis Stone in Lake Louise, Alberta. They were married for 41 years and have two children, Ellen and Tom; granddaughter, Zoriana; and son-in-law, Taras. Dan also had an Uncle Bill and a large extended family. His lifelong love of music began as a teen playing guitar. The Beatles, Leo Kotke and John Prine were among his favorites. Dan graduated from Central Catholic High School in Norwalk, U Conn, and University of Portland. He was a VISTA Volunteer or two years in the mid-70s. Dan was a computer analyst and spent most of his career with University of Portland. He loved to bicycle and was a member of Portland Velo. He was an active board member of the neighborhood HOA and loved talking to and helping neighbors. Due to Coronavirus no service will be held.
