Charles Allen Zausch Evansville - Charles Allen Zausch, age 80, formerly of Evansville, IN and Henderson, KY passed away peacefully at home with his family on Thursday, July 23rd, 2020 in Louisville, KY. Charles was born in St. Louis, MO and played football for University City High School, received his BS in Biology from the University of Evansville, where he also played football and met Jo "Boodie" Fouts, his wife and partner. He was drafted to play professional football for the Baltimore Colts. He earned a professional degree in architecture from the University of Kentucky, formed Charles Zausch and Associates Architecture in Henderson, KY, and practiced as an accomplished architect for over 30 years. He was a devoted father of two sons and grandfather. Charles loved art and design, enjoyed horse riding (hunter/jumper), and was an avid golfer. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Leona Zausch and sister, Wally Zausch Schliesser. Charles is survived by Jo Fouts Zausch, wife and partner; Shirley Thorn, sister; Edward L. Zausch, brother (and best friend); Walter W. Zausch, son; Matthew W. Zausch, son; daughters-in-law Dana Motley Zausch and Ashley Smith Zausch; and 6 grandchildren, Emery, Willem, Oliver, James, Shea, and Bellamy. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 4th, in Evansville, IN, from 12-4 PM and a Memorial Service at 4 PM at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave. A graveside service and burial will be on August 5th at 3 PM (EST) at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 2089 Versailles Road, Lexington, KY.
