In memory of
Nicola L. Porreco
Nicola L. Porreco June 20, 1953 - June 17, 2020 When asked who is Nick Porreco, he answered "a being of light and love." Above all, he loved his son Anthony who he raised alone from the age of 2. He also loved his extended family and helped them in any way he could. A past president of the Theosophical Society in Portland, he studied world religions and philosophies in search of ultimate truth. For many years he worked as an electrical engineer, winning the Hard Hat of the Year award for the Western Division of The Army Corps of Engineers. At age 55, Nick had to retire due to the deteriorating effects, both physically and mentally, of MS. His amazing patience was truly tested. Nick was smart, funny and always tried to leave people and situations better than he found them. We are all better for having known him and miss him deeply. Nick is survived by his wife, son, and two granddaughters. Please sign the online guest book at www.oregonlive.com/obits
