In memory of
Glen Maire
Glen Maire Smiling, longtime Roselle resident Popular and proud uncle and Godfather Glen Maire of Union, N.J., a longtime Roselle, N.J. resident, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2020 at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, N.J. A funeral Mass will be offered for Glen Maire, 60, at the Church of St. Joseph the Carpenter in Roselle on Saturday, Aug. 1st at 11:30 a.m. All Covid-19 guidelines, including social distancing and the wearing of a mask, will be enforced inside St. Joe's. A loving son and a gentle soul with a bright smile to greet friends and family, Glen was a very popular and a proud uncle, especially to his three Godchildren (Andrew Biddulph, Bridgette Maire Melendez and Ashley Skrec). One of Glen's favorite titles was that of Godfather. Glen was a member of the St. Joseph the Carpenter Knights of Columbus Council #3946 in Roselle for more than 40 years. A Third Degree member of the Knights, Glen became a staple of the Council's annual Christmas Dinner, where he welcomed guests with a smile and a raffle ticket for door prizes. An enthusiastic sports fan, Glen passionately, if not always patiently, followed his favorite team, the New York Yankees. He was also a big football fan, especially of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Abraham Clark Rams. A proud Abraham Clark High School alumnus, Glen enjoyed renewing acquaintances at the Roselle's annual Thanksgiving Day clash with rival Roselle Park. A skilled kegler and pool player, Glen represented the Knights of Columbus in local leagues and his talents in bowling and billiards took him to tournaments around the United States. After Glen worked in maintenance for the Alfieri Corporation for 20 years, he worked part-time for A&P supermarkets. Glen's first job was in his family's ice delivery business. Glen is survived by his mother, Santina Frances (nee D'Amico); his siblings, Debbie Biddulph (Rich), Charlie Maire (Donna), Laura Skrec (Joe), and Guy Maire (Karen); nephews Richard, Andrew, Michael, Christopher and Anthony; nieces Catherine, Jacqueline, Jessica, Allison, Bridgette, Erica, Ashley, Caitlin, Emily and Taylor and many cousins, aunts and uncles. Glen was predeceased by his father, Gerard Maire. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shriners Hospitals for Children are suggested.
