Tromp, Muriel L. Kentwood, MI Muriel Yvonne (VanKooten) Tromp, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at her home. She overcame her battle with cancer with grace, dignity and strength and is now in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Muriel will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, Gary; children, Greg (Sue) Tromp, Mark (Amy) Tromp, Steve (Gayle) Tromp, Julie (Dale) Jeltema; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Harris (Grace) VanKooten, Denny Dieleman; sisters-in-law, Clarine VanKooten and Bernice Vermeer. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald VanKooten; sister, Celia (Marv) Zylstra; brothers-in-law, Cornie (Esther) Tromp, and Harry Vermeer. The family wishes to thank Kirby and Julia at Lacks Cancer Center as well as Jennifer at Faith Hospice for their loving care of our mom. The family will greet visitors from 5 - 8 pm on Sunday, August 2, at Stroo Funeral Home. A committal service will be held at 11 am on Monday, August 3, at Winchester Cemetery, with Rev. Ken VanWyk and Rev. Josh VanDrunen officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or South Christian High School Athletics Department.
