In memory of
Bengry, Mark 2/9/1949 - 7/26/2020 Saline Mark Edward Bengry, 71, passed away on July 26, 2020, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Born February 9, 1949, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Mark was a life-long Michigan native and U of M fan until his daughter attended Michigan State University, and he dared to proudly wear green and white in his home town on game day. But that was Mark, always boldly living life on his terms. A Navy Veteran, Mark continued to serve his country, working for various branches of the government, the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor, and the US Department of Homeland Security until his retirement. Throughout his career, he received several awards and accolades for his service. Loving called "Mr. Safety," Mark, ever so cautious, would proudly share updates on the latest safety or security protocols set forth. An independent, headstrong, and loving friend and father, he was always there for a car ride and conversation with his son. Mark is preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Anne Bengry, brother, Greg Bengry, and Mother, Ella Bengry. He is survived by his father Ralph Bengry, brothers Kirk and Bruce Bengry, his children, Matthew Bengry and Megan (Bengry) Ruehle, her husband Daniel Ruehle, and granddaughter Raegan Ruehle. A virtual memorial service will be held to honor Mark's life, Friday, July 31, 2020, at 11 AM. The service will be streamed live for those outside the immediate family and friends who are unable to attend due to COVID-19 restrictions. Unfortunately, due to the current pandemic, there will be no visitation. However, the family warmly encourages virtual memories or tributes to celebrate Mark's life via the guestbook link at www.janowiakfuneralhome.com/obituary/mark-bengry . Both video and photographs are welcome.
