Nancy S. (Berendes) Knowles Evansville - Nancy S. (Berendes) Knowles, 79, of Evansville, passed away Monday, July 27, 2020 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. She was born November 9, 1940 in Evansville, to the late Clarence and Hylean (Oliver) Berendes. Nancy graduated from Mater Dei High School in 1958. She retired from Deaconess Hospital after working 15 years in child care. Nancy was a former member of St. Theresa and a current member of All Saints Parish. She enjoyed her trips to Daytona Beach and Genealogy, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Nancy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert Knowles; sons, Mark (Michelle McNally) Knowles, Thomas (Amy) Knowles, and Matthew Knowles; daughters, Rebecca (Darren) Folk and Elizabeth (Austin) Zimmer; grandchildren Avery Zimmer, Brody Zimmer, Camden Folk, Peighton Folk; sisters, Jacqueline (Bill) Alford, Theresa (Ron) Scheller and Beverly Rennich; nieces and nephews; and loved ones, Melissa Cummins and Jonathan Parkhurst. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Michael Knowles. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 N. First Avenue. Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2020 at All Saints Parish-St. Anthony Catholic Church, 704 N. First Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church. The services will be live-streamed on the Facebook page for Ziemer Funeral Home and Cremation Services 10 minutes prior to the service time. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Crawford and the staff at Deaconess Midtown Neuro ICU.
