Viola Donna (Keutzer) Hawkins Evansville - Viola Donna (Keutzer) Hawkins, 97, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020 at her daughter's home. She was born March 17, 1923 in Monroe County, IN, to the late Theodore and Docie (Elkins) Keutzer. Viola graduated from Smithville High School. She was a long time and active member of Abundant Faith United Pentecostal Church, where she taught Sunday school for 30 years. She was extremely crafty and able to make anything using her skills sewing, crocheting, knitting or ceramics. Viola was also a wonderful cook. Viola is survived by her daughter, Patricia Simmons; grandchild, Susan Huff; great grandchildren, Megan Huff and Christopher Silvers; brother, Robert (Joyce) Keutzer; and sister-in-law, Beulah Martin. In addition to her parents, Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Hawkins; son, John Christopher Hawkins; grandson, Donald Silvers, Jr.; brothers, William, Charles and Arthur Keutzer; and sisters, Nina Kinser and Jane Mosier. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Avenue. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Reverend James Maroney officiating. Committal services will be held at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington, IN at 2:30 p.m. (EST).
